International studies show that one in three women will experience abuse by a significant other in their lifetime, while 40% of all murdered women are killed by their husbands or lovers. These statistics are staggering, but Every Woman's Place and Webster House Youth Services are here to strengthen families. Our programs range from domestic violence prevention to youth programs geared toward helping youth make positive decisions about their lives.
Saturday, March 3rd from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT!!
We would like to thank everyone that made a contribution during this holiday season.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to serve all of our clients as well as several others seeking last minute help. We appreciate your help and support in making the holidays brighter for the women, youth and children we serve.
By the numbers:
44 Families served through the Adopt-A-Family Program
201 Individuals (agency clients)
61 Individuals served through call-ins
11 individuals by face to face referral
Total 322 individuals were served
Excluding the adopted families, all individuals served received gifts from the "Christmas room" where donations from the community are sorted and distributed. That we were able to provide help to so many is a direct result of your thoughtfulness and generosity. So thank you!

As of February 3, Every Woman’s Place/Webster House Youth Services will close their donation center, ending the practice of providing free clothing and housewares.
The purpose for closing the Donation Center is to make room for additional beds for both adult and youth residents at the 1221 Laketon shelter site. Last year, the agency provided 7,413 bed nights in the women’s shelter serving domestic and sexual abuse. This is 12% over capacity for that shelter. “There are times when we use the playroom and the living room areas to accommodate residents,” mentioned Rachel Glavich, Director of Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services.
Additional beds are also needed for the older teens ages 18 to 21. These teens are not only homeless themselves, but some also have children of their own. The Transitional Living Program is a longer-term housing service for teens and young adults to learn life skills that will lead to their self-sufficiency and give them the ability to live on their own. Currently, there is a waiting list for this service.
The agency has asked that donated clothing and housewares be directed to The Rescue Mission. An arrangement has been made to offer clients of Every Woman’s Place/Webster House with free clothing and housewares through their thrift stores.
"This arrangement allows our agency to continue and expand necessary services while giving needy families access to items they need free-of-charge,” commented Dr. Susan Johnson, CEO for Every Woman’s Place/Webster House Youth Services. “We will still need items for the day-to-day operations of the shelters like towels, diapers, food, and personal care products. These will be requested periodically through Facebook and our websites.”
The agency Facebook pages are EVERY WOMANS PLACE and WEBSTER HOUSE YOUTH SERVICES.
Donors can bring their items to the Muskegon Rescue Mission Thrift Store locations on Apple Avenue and Sherman Blvd., as well as the North Muskegon location on Holton Road across from Meijer. Also, The Rescue Mission will accept donated goods at their Peck and Laketon shelters.
People in need of clothing and household items can go to The Rescue Mission at 1691 Peck Street on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm or call (231) 727-6090 for requirements to request a gift certificate to shop.
